1358.0. "HELP needed for no longer made CD" by DSSDEV::CHURLEY (Make Hernandez what Gibson is-GONE!) Tue Oct 25 1988 10:27

Apparently due to legal stuff with David Bowie, I cannot find
a copy of Path Metheny's "Falcon and the Snowman". I know it was
once available, a friend of mine has it.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to get a copy of this?

Don't bother with this disk...it's really bad. Buy another
    10,000 Maniacs disk.

I heard that due to legal problems with Bowie's old record company
(EMI?), that his entire backlog of CD's before the Let's Dance album
are no longer available. I don't know if this would include the
    "Falcon & the Snowman"

1358.8No problem in EuropeBERN01::SCHMITTMax G. Schmitt, BerneTue Nov 15 1988 05:384
That seems to be a problem stateside, but here in Europe the old Bowie stuff,
including Falcon and ... is readily available in volume.

1358.9What (RCA) titles are available in *your* stores?AYOV10::DROBBI'm just another Western guy.....Wed Nov 16 1988 03:2513
Re. .8 (and .5) - I don't know whereabouts in Europe you are, but
there most *definately* is a problem with the availability of Bowie's
RCA back catalogue, not only on CD, but I believe also on vinyl
and (less importantly :-) cassette. I haven't seen *any* RCA titles
around for quite some time now - the only stuff in the racks is
from EMI-America, i.e. LET'S DANCE, TONIGHT and NEVER LET ME DOWN.
Occasionally, I've seen one or two compilations advertised mail-order,
but no HUNKY, ZIGGY, ALADDIN etc.

Last I heard was that RYKODISC (sp.?) in the U.S. have made a heavy
bid for the back catalogue titles, but I think it's unlikely that
such a relatively unknown outfit could be successful.....but, you
    never know!!!

I'm in Switzerland and I *did* see Ziggy, for example only last week.
