| Harry Chapin _Gold_ came out a few days ago. It is a double disk.
I'm not sure where the songs came from, but it seems to be a typical
greatest hits.
A disk called Harry Chapin _Storyteller_ is also due out about now.

I'm wondering if possibly they renamed the Legend of the Lost And
Found album.
I'll call around town to see what I can find out.
I'm not familar with the Storyteller either.

Nice collection. It puzzles me no end, though, that "Sequel" doesn't
follow "Taxi" in the selection order. I can't listen to one without
the other.....

1333.7 | I want more Harry CDs... | TON80::CAMPBELL | It's only a CRIME if you get caught!! | Thu Oct 06 1988 15:02 | 19 |
| Hello,
I'm a Harry Chapin buff and so far I have been able to get the
following.
Remember When The Music.
Greastest Stories
Heads and Tales
The Gold metal Collection.
All of them are excellent. The Gold Metal I purchased in Nashua
NH at a place call Nashua Compact.
There's also a Mini-CD which has the "Remeber When The Music" song
on it, but I wasn't interested in that one.

1333.9 | NEW CHAPIN RELEASE!!! | VENOM::WATERS | The Legend of the Lakes | Thu Nov 17 1988 13:56 | 22 |
| I received a letter from Sandy Chapin Yesterday, November 17, 1988.
She sent me a copy of the program from Carnegie Hall from the night
of December 7, (Harry's birthday) 1987. It was the night that Sandy
was given the Gold Medal Award for Harry's work to bring an end
to world hunger. I asked about the Legends of the Lost and Found
release but she didn't respond to that particular question. She
did tell me that there was a new release this month. Its is called
the Last Protest Singer. I was lucky enough to call around and
find two copies of it at Rocket Records in Nashua. I can't wait
to hear it. It contains 11 of the 16 songs Harry was working on
at the time of his tragic death.
I am still waiting to hear from WHY (World Hunger Year). I will
be happy to make copies of the list of items Sandy sent me that
can be order through The Chapin Office. There are a list of Harry
Chapin Collectibles. Tee shirts, poetry book and other items.
I guess I'll just have to wait for the Legends of the Lost and Found
a little longer.

Does anyone know whether there are any plans for a CD release of
Verities & Balderdash? It would've been 1st on my list (I *just* got a
CD player!), but it doesn't seem to exist!

1333.12 | Heres whats available to date! | VENOM::WATERS | The Legend of the Lakes | Fri Nov 18 1988 06:58 | 20 |
| The only ones available to date are:
Heads and Tales
Remember When the Music (Sequel)
(Song also Avail. on 3" disc)
Greatest Stories Live
Gold Medal Collection
Last Protest Singer (new release)
Thats it for right now Beverly. I we can do is hope that with the
Holidays coming up they will release more of Harry's music on CD.
I gave a quick listen to Harry's, Last Protest Singer. It is typical
Harry....GREAT! The last song on the track could possibly become
my favorite. I believe the title is, You are the Only Light...It
is great....I'll bet his wife has a tough time listening to this
particular song.

1333.13 | I agree....It's GREAT!! | TON80::CAMPBELL | It's only a CRIME if you get caught!! | Fri Nov 18 1988 09:13 | 10 |
| I have to agree with you John, the Last Protest Singer is great.
I picked it up on the way to work and I am listening to it now.
I haven't gotten to the last song yet.
BTW, you were close, it called 'You Own the Only Light'
I can't seem to bring myself to buy the 3" cd. But I have all the
rest and keeping an eye open for more.

| I'm not going to buy the 3" cd! I own two Springsteen 3" cd's and
I find I don't bother listening to them much...due to the short
play time.

1333.15 | Too Good to Be True | VOGON::MORGAN | Everyone's Special In An Ordinary Way | Mon Jan 09 1989 08:58 | 10 |
| Another vote for The Last Protest Singer, this time from the U.K.
I'm lucky enough to have been sent it by post as no HC Cd's are
available this side of the water.
It's a 'real' Chapin collection of music and , I assume, must have
been close to release at the time of his death.

1333.16 | If You Had a Choice... | TOLKIN::CHILDS | | Thu Feb 02 1989 01:48 | 11 |
|
I'm buying my first Chapin CD to add to my (small) CD collection.
Since I've heard several of the songs from Live on the radio; I
was leaning towards getting it over Gold Medal Collection.
If you guys had 1 choice (for the time being due to funds); which
one would you get first? Greatest Hits Live or Gold medal Collection?
Thanks
Mark
