| It's out over here - it's a tribute to both Woody Guthrie and
Leadbelly. It's getting quite a bit of airplay, especially
the Springsteen and U2 contributions.

| The consensus of reviews I've read is that everything on the
Guthrie/Leadbelly tribute works, except the Brian Wilson contribution
(which I believe is "Goodnight Irene"). I've liked what I've
heard -- the Springsteen, the Dylan "Pretty Boy Floyd" (nice to
compare to the bootleg Dylan version), the Little Richard
"Rock Island Line", and the Willie Nelson contribution (Guthrie
tune I hadn't heard).
This one's for the benefit of the Smithsonian, who intend to
purchase the Folkways archives.

| Though I haven't heard the whole cd yet, only cuts, the two
reviews I read listed the Brian Wilson tune as one of the gems
on the cd. Each his own, eh?

Thats real interesting because I've read perhaps 5 different reviews
and each one, to a fault, has listed the Wilson cut as the only
out and out failure.
