Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I am new to the net. After gathering a fair number of CD's, you may find yourself not really listening to those you bought way back when. Or you may have taken a chance on a disc and unfortuneately crapped out. Are there any "good" places in the greater Boston area that will give a fair amount of credit or cash value for used CD's? Thanks. Any help is appreciated.

Not a place in Boston, but there is a swapper's notesfile at CERBUS::CDSWAP which you can add by hitting KP7.

re:.0 Well, there are some places in Boston which will give you cash for used CDs, such as Nuggets and I think Planet in Kenmore Sq., but they'll probably give you about $5.50 for the more popular ones, and maybe nothing for the more obscure ones. But I agree with .1, you can do a lot better through CDSWAP, the going prices there are still $10 or $9 for most discs. I think $10 is getting to be kind of high for used CDs, since many of the discs I've seen in CDSWAP for $10 I've seen at Lechmere (on sale) for less, and they're new! Steve

Looney Tunes is on Boylston St. between Hemenway St. and Mass Ave. They have a good selection which turns over fairly quickly (it is located in the heart of Berkeley country). The last time I checked all used CD's (single albums) sold for $10 regardless of the artist/title. If you want to sell or trade a disk (assuming it is something they will be able to sell) they will give you $6 cash or $7 credit. -Eric

Boston Compact Disc in Cambridge on JFK street (near Harvard's Kirkland House) gives $7.00 store credit for used CD's. |
