After a recent thunder storm the cd player rotates backward. Anyone ever have this problem? Most have lost half of the voltage rectifier. Any one know of a good service shop? Dave

1304.1 | Mine did the same thing! | BPOV02::MICHAUD | Think about software that thinks! | Mon Aug 22 1988 11:36 | 13 |
Funny you should ask! I have a Hitachi DA500 which had this exact same problem. I believe I asked the same question in the audio notesfile. Anyway the disk rotated in the opposite direction therefore all of the track information is garbage. I had mine repaired at a service center in Framingham. The name of the place escapes me now. If I remember right, the service center is right on Rt 126 in Framingham. They ended up replacing the whole drive unit. It was still under warantee at the time therefore it cost me nothing but I had to wait *months* before it was ready due to parts wait. Good Luck!! John// | |||||

That's strange that they replaced the drive, I would think it would be a control or power supply problem. Mine isn't under warrenty, double bummer. Dave |
