1297.0. "D-10 problems (auto only)" by SMAUG::SPODARYK () Wed Aug 10 1988 08:41
I've been using my Sony D-10 for the past 8 months connected
to a stereo or with headphones, and haven't had any problems. I
think its a great little player.
Last week I bought the Sony cassette adapter so that I can use
it in my car. Every time I try to use it, the D-10 plays great
for about 5-15 minutes (good sound, no skips on bumps, etc) then
it starts to have problems. It doesn't really skip, but seems to be
more of a "dropout", this occurs repeatedly every second or so.
It happens regardless of what CD I try to use. I use the player
on my front passenger seat. The orientation of the player doesn't
make a difference (facing front, sideways, etc).
Has anyone had (or heard) of this type of problem ? I didn't
think it was the adapter because it does work great for the first
2 songs. This is very annoying because it takes me 3 songs to get
to work. :^) I would also like to use it on trips.
Looks like the SSC for me... (sony service center... oh no !)
This had better be under warrenty...

1297.1 | Try to borrow an adaptor!! | BPOV04::MICHAUD | Think about software that thinks! | Wed Aug 10 1988 11:45 | 11 |

I think it would be wise if you try to borrow an adaptor from
a friend so that you can determine where the problem is. If
you take the player in for service, you will be charged a fee
just to look at it regardless whether or not there is really
something wrong with it. Purchasing another adaptor would
probably cost you another $30. anyway which could be used
towards the repair of the player should there be something
wrong with it. If I were you, I'd try to borrow an adaptor.
