1282.4Carthage CD's?BAVIKI::GOODMichael GoodTue Aug 16 1988 15:203
    Carthage is releasing CD's? Might this mean we'll get some of Phil
    Ochs' material on CD too?? Jerry, do you know of any other artists
    that Carthage is releasing on CD?

    Carthage has a CD-only "Best Of" from the late Sandy Denny, which
    I think is the only non-Thompson CD in their curent catalog.

    That's the only one I know of, too.

    As far as I know, Carthage and Hannibal are one and the same
    (makes sense, doesn't it? I mean, Hannibal was a Carthaginian,
    after all :-)). I'm not sure if there's a rhyme or reason as
    to what is released under which imprint. I used to think that
    Hannibal was the British arm and Carthage the American, but
    that doesn't explain why some things are released in the US
    under the Hannibal imprint.

    As far as I canfigure out, Hannibal (which existed before Carthage)
    is the parent label and all *new* releases come out on that label.

    All *reissues* come out on Carthage.

    Now, quick someone come up with an exception!!!!
