1275.0. "CD doesn't cue/scan properly?" by SUBSYS::GLORIOSO () Wed Jul 20 1988 16:11
I Just got Midnight Oil - Red Sails on the Sunset and it has a very
strange tracking problem. First, it takes a very long time to
cue up any track. The player sounds like it's lost and keeps
overshooting it destination. Usually, after 20 - 30 sec it finally
starts playing, but it doesn't always start at time 0:00 of the
track. Most of the time it backs up to the previous track and
play anywhere from the last 5 - 50sec before continuing on to the
selected track. Also, when I use the audible forward scan, it
starts to scan froward and then jumps backwards in large inconsitant
increments. It's really strange!! I've never seen anything like this
with any of my other discs. It's a brand new disc, it's not
scratched, it's not dirty. Seems like there are some errors in
the tracking code that's read when it boots up. I'm going to try
it on another player. I'll post my findings.
By the way...it does play fine, all of the way through once it
finds the first track.
Has anyone had similar problems with this disc or others?
Scott.
