I was going thru the New Age section of the Cd's at Lechmere when
I spotted a sampler for 6.99 for the Cinema label. There was a review
of the disc in Audio Review which gave the sampler a 10 for audio
and a 7 for performance so gave the cd a try. As an electronic music
and new age fan I was very pleased with this cd. The sound is out-
standing and many of the selections have good style over some new
age stuff that is out. Of course this is a sampler and the music
style varies from electronic semirock to lyrical space sounds and
I recommend it. This Cd has one selection #10 called space walk
that opens with conversation bewteen main control and the astronaut
as they open the pod bay doors to the outside, great effect. This
is followed by a soundtrack type theme using heavy electronic music
that is a trip in itself with the volume up. This selection was
worth the 6.99 alone.

And the discs represented are for the most part great. I have almost
all of them. I don't recommend the Pete Bardens disc, but all of
the rest, particulary Amin Bahtia's Interstellar Suite (with the
airlock sound effects). Cinema is the label that solicited Michael
Hoenig to make his first album in 10 years or so.
If you liked the spacewalk business, get Interstellar Suite. There's
a sub-space beacon, two space battles, lots of great fun. And Bahtia
can *really* play. There are sequencers used, but not at the expense
of articulation or musical value.

I agree, this is a great find. I even bullied the clerk to give
me the 20% off sale price, which made it $5.29. The only problem
was...you guessed it...I had to find it in the Movies and Soundtrack
Section! (Greendale Mall Lechmere, which seems to only get CD shipments
once a month, and never has brand-new releases).
