I hope we can share some valuable information in this note.
During these day's Bach's Matheuss Passion is performed nearly
every day. There are quite a few CD-recordings of this oratorium.
But there are many more oratoria, and many on CD as well!
Take for instance Handel's Messiah (christopher Hogwood).
Last week I captured Haydn's "Nelson Messe", by the English Consort
(Trevor Pinnock).
Waiting for replies!

| 1133.1 | Handel's Esther. Worth a listen | SMURF::BINDER | Popular culture is an oxymoron. | Tue Apr 05 1988 15:35 | 5 |
Try Handel's Esther, by Hogwood et al. Of particular note (no pun intended) is Drew Minter's alto role. Minter is one of the finest male altos I ever hope to hear. - Dick | |||||

Dick,
Your enthousiastic reply made me purchase Esther unheared. It realy
is beatiful. Minter is very fine, I prefere him over Rene Jacobs.
There is a duet in the second part which I think is the most gorgious
piece in the whole Esther.
