1117.0. "Looking for a CD...War of the Worlds" by GSPMO::WEST (I'm just visiting this planet.) Tue Mar 15 1988 19:30

Greetings everyone. I am looking for some help in locating a CD.

The CD that I am hunting for is Jeff Lynn's Musical Version of War of the
Worlds. I have placed this CD on order at three different music shops
here in Colorado Springs and it has been over two months now and all I
have heard from these people is that the CD is still on order. I do know
that this CD is still in 'print' on CD.

I would like to know if someone out there has seen it in their local music
shop. If so I am interested in working out some sort of deal to have this
CD purchased and shipped to me.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

I'm pretty sure this disk is listed in the Noteworthy Music mail
order catalog (there's a note on them in here somewhere). They're
very good about having stuff in stock and their prices are absolutely
unbeatable. If you haven't seen their catalog and would like to
    I have one at CX03.

Where did you place the orders? I think I've seen one in the
one of the places I usually shop. Try the Budget Tapes and
Records on N. Tejon and The Prelude.

I just checked the Noteworthy catalog...this isn't one of their
best bargains by any means, but they have War of the Worlds listed
for $23.05. Most of their double disk sets tend to be closer to
$20 but this is still probably a better price than you will find
    locally.

I just checked my Noteworthy Catalog (March 1988)
and it has a different price. Perhaps it is a different
         disk?

Probably the same disk but a different catalog. The only catalog
I have here at work is the Jan-Feb catalog. I've noticed that most
of the disks in this catalog are substantially higher priced than
    the March catalog.

Are these guys too good to be true or what?

Another number to look for is

	"CDCBS9600".

CD versions sounds as good , if not better than the record.

Isn't it Wayne not Lynn? I haven't looked at it in a while, and
my vinyl is at home and I'm not.

My mistake...it is Jeff Wayne. Not Lynn. Lost my mind for a moment.

Found it thru the noteworthy catalog and it has been ordered.
