100 MASTERPIECES
I bought volume 1 of 5 this week at Lechmere on sale at an
incredible $7.98! It was too good to pass up! Volume 1 contains the
first 20 of 100 masterpieces. The length is also an incredible 73
minutes, 16 seconds! The other four volumes are of similar length and
price. The complete set of 5 is also available at a discount ~ $39.99.
Most of the works are performed by the "Budapest Philharmonic".
Who? Hey, wadda expect for $7.98! The performances are surprisingly
good and all are recorded DDD.
I plan to use this collection to develop an association between the
composer, the music, and the name of the piece. Then, I may purchase
additional, higher quality, complete recordings of the pieces that
interest me. This collection is great for people, like me, who need
to develop their tastes for classical music.
Would anybody else like to rate this collection?

| I bought volume 3 this week also for the same reasons .0 mentioned.
I wanted to sample a variety, and then decide which works I wanted
in their entirety. I have no complaints about this disc - pretty
good sound and a great price!!
