Well, for studio rock, I'd say Rush's album "Power Windows" although
the remaster of the Alan Parsons Project's "Tales of Mystery and
Imagination" runs an extremely close second.
For live rock, Rush's "Exit... Stage Left"
For classical stuff, I'd say "Rossini: Overtures" by Sir Neville
Marriner and the Academy of Saint-Martin-In-The-Field.
For live classical, "Horowitz in Moscow"

| I really enjoy both the beautiful sound and performance of Russell
Sherman's versions of the 5 Beethoven piano concertos on PROARTE.
The piano has great tone and clarity and the Czech Philharmonic
sounds majestic accompanying Sherman.

In reply to the sound of Regatta De-Blanc, Well I don't have
the cd (is it out?) any way the record is great so is Zenatta Mon-datta
and Outlandos De-Amour great music , and theres nothing wrong with
Mother (on sync.) you got to like humour in music. Check out the
track "On Any Other Day" from Regatta.... It's wild

You've got to be kidding, aren't you? Where's the smiley face?
The Harvest version isn't
the best sounding DSOtM CD out there. I've had the Capital, Harvest,
and EMI. The EMI is far superior to either the Capital or Harvest.
The dealer I purchased the EMI version said that there is a Music
Fidelity version that supposidly sounds better than the EMI but
he has never been able to get his hands on it (hasn't even seen
it for that matter, it may not exist.) But hey, don't take my word
or anyone elses of which one sounds best. If you spent $150 for
your copy and it sounds good to you be happy. What you don't know
won't kill you :^) .

There is (was) a Mobile Fidelity version of the Dark Side of
the Moon released. My brother got his about 3 years ago new. It's
supposed to be the best sounding version of them all.

| I was surprised at how good Crosby, Stills and Nash (the one with
Neil Young looking out the back door) sounded. I thought it would
be bad but decided to take a chance. I was surprised...maybe because
I expected the worst. Maybe my albums was just so worn out that
anything would sound good.
I found that U2's Unforgettable Fire was pretty good and I'm not
a big U2 fan.

| There seems to be some amount of debate of Dark Side of the Moon.
I just came from Silver Platter in Bellevue. They had both the
Capitol and Harvest version of Dark Side. When I asked about the
EMI version, I was told that Harvest is a subsidiary of EMI and
that there is only one version other than Capitol.
It was concurred by the folks there that the Harvest version is
*much* better and hence, the price was greater also. The Capitol
version was selling at 14.95 and I won't say how much more the
Harvest version was selling for.
I will start the bidding at $100. Send me mail.
As for the other Pink Floyd CD's, it was the opinion of the Silver
Platter staff that they are all pretty good on CBS. They sited
Meddle, Animals and Wish You Were Here as being good.

That guy is giving you a line. Actually, Capitol, Harvest, and
EMI are bedfellows. The Capitol is the US release, the Harvest
is the UK release, and the EMI is the Japanese release. I have
the EMI version. Every report I've seen comparing the different
versions claims that the EMI issue is the best of the three.

than the CBS, though I've never seen the EMI version i can't say
it exists, and I don't see how it can get any cleaner than the Harvest
edition. and then again I don't care if it's cleaner the Harvest
because the Harvest is GREAT.
Is that guy trying to sell a harvest edition? I'm confused but
I'll give him $10.00 as thats all I paid for mine, used. (it's
imaculate)

An extremely pleasant surprise -- Styx's "Equinox." Clean as your
mom's kitchen floor. And not a bad album, neither.

| When it comes to good-sounding CDs my vote goes to Willy DeVille's
recent effort, 'Miracle'. Squeaky clean DDD recording produced by
Mark Knopfler, who also plays guitar on most tracks. Willy's vocals
are displayed in a very good way. Willy DeVille, of course, used to
be the singer in Mink DeVille.
Listen to the track 'Spanish Jack' for some very deep bass sounds.
Anyone who likes the work of Mark Knopfler should check out this CD.

to lay my hands on it though. Has anyone seen it? At any sort
