1014.0. "WHICH CD PLAYER ?? HELP" by SHIRE::DIRK () Wed Dec 16 1987 06:11

    Hello,

    I would like to buy a CD player between 300$ - 600$, but I really
    don't know which one to buy, because they are so many CD player.
    If I listen to the salesman he suggest me 3 CD players :

    1) DENON CD600 or CD800
    2) PHILIPS CD670
    3) SONY EDP M50

    What do you think about these 3 CD players or do you have a better
    suggestion for this price ?? Fiability and sound quality is my first
    interest.

    Thanks and regards,

    Dirk

    Personally, I really like my Denon DCD600. I got it for $229.
    Seems to have a fair number of features and good access time.

    Hi, you might also consider the Denon DCD1500II, it's quite good.
     Also, the Magnavox 650 is excellent. Magnavox is the American
    subsidary of Phillips who co-invented the CD with Sony.

    Also, I am a regular in the AUDIO notesfile and the hotest topic
    this season has been "what is the best CD player for X$". You will
    find a wealth of info there on this subject.

    It's DSSDEV::AUDIO

    Furthermore, since Denon has replaced the DCD-1500 with the "New
    and Improved" DCD-1500-II, I've seen the old 1500 on sale for as
    little as $450 (list is something like $650). If you don't mind
    the slightly older model/implementation you *may* be able to swing
    some sort of deal.

    FWIW,
    David.
