| Are you talking about loaning out your CD's, or do you have a player
in your office? If the latter, what is your location?

| You have 700 CD's?!? I could mention the table, arm, head amp and
cartridge you could have bought with all that money but I'm not
an AUDIO snob. Still, that's quite a collection & I be drooling...

| At a worse case average of 33min/disc, that averages out to 16.04
days of non-stop playing (not counting time to insert and remove
each disc), could you tell me when the hell you have time to listen
to all you have bought?

| re:.7
Who says he has to listen to all of them frequently? Would you ask
the same question if he said he had 700+ *records*? I think not.
re:.8
700 CD's do not take up a lot of space (one of the advantages of
CD's over LP's. I have ~300 CD's and they fit in 6 2-foot bookcase
shelves. I have the space available (with a little shifting around
of some magazines) for about another 400 CD's. If only I had the
money to buy them. :-)
I've been considering building my own CD-bookcases that would be
much more efficient in space usage (the current bookcases I use
have 10" shelves whereas 6" would be sufficient). If I did this,
I could create well over 200 CD's worth of shelving in the same
amount of gross bookcase space.

975.10 | | ULTRA::HERBISON | Less functionality, more features | Tue Dec 01 1987 16:58 | 7 |
| I `only' have about 500 CDs, but for some reason I have always
had problems storing them (I have similar problems with books).
What I am currently using is a bookcase with adjustable shelves
supported by pegs in holes in the sides. By adding additional
shelves I am able to make fairly good use of the space.

| Still new to this conference......
Can you give me a review of the Jazz CD "MONK'S DREAM by Thelonious
MONK Quartet". It is on Columbia Jazz masterpieces CK40786.
According to the DEC. issue of Digital Audio they gave it a pretty
good rating.
Thanks in advance
Jim
