900.0. "car cd power converter circuit" by CLT::ORTHOBER () Mon Sep 14 1987 12:13

        I just looked at a portable cd player that I thought I'd
        hook up to the aux input of my car stero. It turns out that
        the beast that I looked at has +/- 7.5 volts for a power supply
        which is very nasty. Well, I designed and build a circuit that
        takes car +12 and converts to +/- 7.5 volts for the cd player.

        Would anyone else be interested in the circuit? If so please
    	mail me your interest to clt::orthober and If there is enough I'll
        post the details here.

        thanks

I face the same problem with +/- 6 v for Technics portable, but I think
they now make an adaptor. How tricky (costly) was it to build custom?
