I spoke with a dealer who has an in with Island Records. He said
that even though the CDs are advertised in the booklet that is included
with other Island CDs something help them up and they have no known
release date. I keep bugging him to find out for me. If I hear
    anything I'll post it here.

They are out in England (on his last trip here from England,
Andy Leslie brought me JOHN BARLEYCORN MUST DIE). I suspect
that they (at least JBMD) should be out in the US soon, since
WMRQ has been playing some cuts from it fairly often. They
don't say it's from a CD, but it would seem too coincidental
if they just happened to be playing a lot of Traffic lately.

I've also noticed that they've been playing "White Bird" a lot
over the last few weeks, which makes me suspect that they've
got a copy of that rogue It's a Beautiful Day CD, though,
again, they never specifically mention that's it a CD they're
    playing.

I was at TSV Video in Merrimack, N.H yesterday looking for the John
Barleycorn Must Die CD and was told that it would be available on
December 1st... Can't wait since I've been looking for this particular
CD for months. I was also told that there was another Traffic CD
that would be available at the same time, sorry, don't remember the
name. Thought some of you might appreciate the update!

I believe that LOW SPARK... is the other one that was released
    in England. Right, Andy?

JOHN BARLEYCORN MUST DIE is a great CD (I've had the British
    version for about half-a-year now).

"Low Spark" comes out, together with "John Barleycorn", this Saturday
    in the UK.

Jerry had a copy of JBMD that I got in a two-day window when it
was made available, then deleted, due to a copyright problem with
    Traffic and the Island label.

I saw "John Barleycorn" 3 days ago, in the budget CD rack of Rainbow
Records in San Jose, Ca. It's price was $10.99. I saw no others,
but it proves they're definitely out West.

877.13So Where is "Last Exit" ???????AQUA::ROSTA circle's not invisibleTue Dec 22 1987 07:577

Did anyone buy "Mr. Fantasy" yet???

Did "Paper Sun" get included (i.e. does it have the UK song selection,
with two extra Mason songs in place of "Paper Sun"?)

877.14"Paper Sun" is Here, but Not on "Mr. Fantasy"AQUA::ROSTDecember boys got it badThu Dec 24 1987 11:0111

Well, I got my answer. I saw the CDs today, and "Mr. Fantasy" does
    have the UK selection.

However, "Paper Sun" is available.....as part of the twin-disc Island
    25th anniversary collection.

Since Island has still not reissued "Best of Traffic" on LP, I have
no great hope of seeing that song on any other CD shortly.....jeez,
one four minute song and they have to leave it off. I am p***ed.

877.15More Traffic CDs In The StoresAQUA::ROSTObedience to the law guarantees freedomMon Jul 11 1988 14:3217

Some new Traffic reissues are out:

    Last Exit

    Welcome to the Canteen

Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory

    On The Road

The CD of "On The Road" appears to be the same as the 2-LP version
(original U.S. release was a single LP).

This leaves only "When the Eagle Flies" and "Best of Traffic" (which
had "Paper Sun", left off of "Mr. Fantasy") unavailable on CD.
