Anyone have any recommedations for/experiences of JJ Cale on CD?
I've borrowed cassettes from a local library (not doing CD's yet!)
and have liked most of what I've heard, but some of the recordings
are fairly old and I'd be nervous of taking pot luck on the CD's.

The only one I've seen so far is "Troubador", and the good news
is that is in Polygram's mid-line series (only $10).
If "Special Edition", a greatest hits package is out, I would recommend
that one as a first purchase....anyone seen it yet?

I have JJ Cale - Special Edition on CD. The recording is quite
good and the songs span most of his best. BTW: Other JJ Cale CD's
that are available are:
Grashopper.

I believe that all are distributed by Polygram

BTW, all of the JJ Cale albums before the four listed in .2 came
out on Shelter records, which has had a schizoid
existence...distributed at various times by Capitol, ABC and MCA
so who knows who owns the masters. I wouldn't expect to see any
of that stuff out any time soon.
I'm surprised Polygram has released all his stuff for them on CD,
I didn't think he sold all that well.
