Within the last ten months, an imperative new band has arisen from the ashes of The Sisters of Mercy. This group of collective genius, led by the immensely talented Wayne Hussey, is called THE MISSION. The Mission's brand of energetic, driving music has stormed the earth in the form of a world-wide Crusade. Wayne's deep, resonant voice blends perfectly with the intricate designs of Simon Hinkler's guitars and mandolins and the persuasive rhythms of Mick Brown and Craig Adams. Endearings songs of beauty and ferocity such as "Wasteland," "Severina," and "Love Me To Death" are the anthems of an unsurpassable new musical movement which just cannot be ignored. The compact discs "God's Own Medicine" and "The First Chapter" are the recorded proof of this monumental assault on the poor quality songs which have been termed "hits" in the past. May the Mission's "Dance" never end... A devoted Missionary...

Re: .0 Are these guys the same as "The Mission UK" that I saw at the Paradise in Boston a few months ago? They sounded like the Doors with the Edge on guitar.... Too bad the vocals were so buried in the mix that I didn't know that they covered "1969" by the Stooges until I read a review of the show two days later!!!!!!! | |||||

Huh! I still envy you of every precious moment you spent in the presence of the Wayne Hussey hat, shades, and lipstick. I wonder why America added the "U.K"? It happened to The Chameleons too!! Their second album, "The First Chapter" is a compilation of their earliest songs and I recommend it with all of my heart and soul... The Devoted Missionary... |
