Found Marianne Faithfull's ``Broken English'' at Rockit Records this week. This CD has very quickly become one of my favorites. The material is exceptionally strong. MF puts every bit of intensity into that straining voice. (I heard her on Saturday Night Live one time when her voice couldn't make the grade; she sounded like a bad violin.) Sound is quite good, although the bass is apt to sound thumpy.
