Can anyone make any recommendations of a good recording
for Mahler's 2nd?

Telarcs on LP is really good, so I have no reason to suspect that
the same thing on CD would be any worse. A good overall Mahler
performance, though at times a tad laid back (I guess they do that
so that the fortissimo's are more dramatic.)
Anyway, Telarc consistently, in my opinion, makes good quality discs
and LPs, sometimes their performances are less than exceptional.
This one is good, not bad, not great, just good. And the quality
is exceptional.
