Bill Bruford ( of Yes, King Crimson, Moraz/Bruford, and solo fame ) has done it again : Bill Bruford's "EARTHWORKS" achieves a new level of jazz virtuosity. He has continued to improve and improvise on an otherwise "Dead Sea" of musical innovation and prowess. EARTHWORKS employs Bruford on drums ( acoustic and electronic ) Iain Ballamy on saxophones Django Bates on keyboards and trumpet Mick Hutton on acoustic bass. It is a contemporary modern jazz, not entirely fusion, and not entirely mainstream, with African / Middle Eastern / European influences, very HOT stuff. It's on Editions EG, AAD, made in the USA ... $ 15 - 16 US Dollars. Enjoy !!

Bruford has also recently worked with guitarist David Torn on his ECM release "Cloud About Mercury." Also on the recording are Tony Levin and Mark Isham. As the music is difficult to describe, I won't. If you appreciate any of these musicians, it could very well be worth your while. R | |||||
