731.0. "What's on my copy of Angel CDC-7 47192?" by EXODUS::MAJEWSKI () Tue Apr 21 1987 13:29

Approximately 8 months ago I purchased two copies of the following
CD, one for me and one for a friend:

Bolling: Concerto for Classic Guitar and Jazz Piano
    		 ANGEL CDC-7 47192

Tracks 1-7 are supposed to be Bolling: Concerto for Classic
    Guitar and Jazz Piano.

Tracks 8-12 are supposed to be Five Spanish works for Solo
    Guitar - Angel Romero.

I say 'supposed to be' because the two disks are not identical!

When I first played my copy, I noticed there really wasn't any
piano in any of the tracks (mostly, if not all, guitar). I really
did not think much of it because the music was wonderful and peaceful.

A couple of weeks ago I listened to my friend's copy of the CD,
and, there was jazz piano on the first 7 tracks, and solo guitar
    on tracks 8-12!

Now, I'm wondering what I really have! Has anyone experienced a
similar situation? Does anyone have an address and/or phone number
for Angel Records, so that I could pursue this further? (there's
    no address on the CD)

    Many thanks,

    Vivianne Majewski

I think a similar incident has been mentioned elsewhere in this conference.

I'd suggest you take the CD to BCD in Harvard Square and play it there; several
members of the staff (especially a young guy with a fuzzy face) really know CDs
well and could probably identify it.

Angel ought to then be able to send you the liner for free (if not the Bolling
CD as well) as compensation for your trouble.
