709.1JVCs at LechmereMYBOAT::HEBERTCaptain BlighWed Apr 08 1987 15:4910
Lechmere has had the JVC XLM-700 on sale for $459.

We bought a package deal - three XLM-700s for $1200. In case you
never heard, salespeople in certain departments of Lechmere will
dicker. (HiFi, TV, major appliances that I know of.)

BTW, the JVCs exceeded our expectations.

Try MP's Electronics World in Framingham (rt 9
immediately west of Caldor in a white "house"). I've bought a
bunch of stuff from them at good prices and had it serviced (one
item caught by a power surge) under warrantee with no hassles.
Their prices seem to be about the best around. I bought the
Pioneer PDM-60 back around Washintons Birthday from them for
        $350.

    re: .1

Lechmere would only dicker on the purchase of 3 or more components,
and they appear to have fixed dicker prices. At any rate, the XL700
went on sale today for $449 and I picked it up. Looks good so far,
but noone seems to sell extra cartridges.

Update, though late. The XL700 has been on sale at Lechmere
for $399 this summer, mid-late July I think. I'll probably get
one next time around, by which time it will likely be $379 or so.
