676.0. "Gordon Lightfoot" by AKOV68::BOYAJIAN (A disgrace to the forces of evil) Thu Mar 12 1987 03:27

    I found a CD of Gordon Lightfoot's IF YOU CAN READ MY MIND at
    Rock'n'Mania. I've only sampled a few cuts from it so far, but
    it sounds nice and clean. I would've preferred the album DON
    QUIXOTE, but beggars can't be choosers.

    Trivial note: IF YOU CAN READ MY MIND was originally released
    under the title SIT DOWN YOUNG STRANGER, and issued with the
    new title after the song of the same name became a hit. In
    fact, my copy of the LP has the new title on the front, but
    the old title on the spine.

676.2yup, GL is great...FACT01::LAWRENCEJim/Hartford A.C.T.,DTN 383-4523Fri Jun 19 1987 12:1711
    I too love old Gordy and have all his LPs. I do believe Don Quixote
    is by far his best album. However, GL says his favorite is Old
    Dan's Records...

    I recently transferred all of GLs albums to tape for the car and
    to preserve them for the future. Wish I had been able to get them
    on CD...I may spring for DQ if it comes around...
