| I bought the vinyl -- because they deleted some cuts on the CD
AND (at least at the time) were charging something like 60% more
than regular CD price.
Can't remember all the missing cuts (only 2 or 3, I think), but
"Misfits" is one.
How does the CD sound ?

| I've got it too, and it sounds great.
Any guesses as to when we will see "Misfits" released. I've got
all of the Kinks CD's I've seen but I've never found that one. It's
easily my favorite Kinks album.

Is "Kink Kronikles" available on CD?
I've always been impressed by the great sound on the vinyl.
Now I'd love to have the CD.
Anybody seen it?

re: .5
As far as I know it's not out. If you go to a store that carries
imports you can find several old titles. I've seen:
Kinda Kinks
Live at Kelvin Hall
* Face to Face
* Arthur
* Lola vs Powerman and The Moneygoround
I have the starred titles and they all sound good considering their
age. I've also read that "Something Else" will be out soon, and
hopefully "Village Green" will follow.

673.7 | "The Road" == "One for the Road" ??? | TOOK::MICHAUD | Jeff Michaud, DECnet-ULTRIX | Wed May 25 1988 22:19 | 2 |
| Does anyone know if the CD "The Road" is the same as the
live double LP "One for the Road"?

It is not.
I wondered myself. So I took a look at it.
"The Road" is Copyright 1986 or '87, while "One For the Road"
was from the Low Budget Tour of '79. (I was at one of the concerts
from which "One For the Road" was taped.)

Here's a list of the pre Muswell Hillbillies Kinks CDs I know of, for the
fans of the early stuff. I've heard the starred titles and I think the
transfers were done well, and are true stereo where possible and mono
otherwise. All these titles are on the PRT label, which is the remains of
the British Pye label, and are from the original masters.
* Kink Kontroversy
* Face To Face
Live At Kelvin Hall
Something Else
Village Green Preservation Society
* Arthur
* Lola vs Powerman and The Moneygoround
Percy (I don't know why they bothered with this one)
* Hit Singles ("You Really Got Me" through "Apeman")
The Kinks Are Well Respected Gentlemen (2 CDs)
They've also put together the long lost Dave Davies solo album and titled
it "The Album That Never Was". Worth getting since it's basically the Kinks
fronted by Dave.

| The new CD "The Road" is not the same as "One for the Road".
The album "The Road" just came out about 3 months ago, and features
songs from their last tour.
I also saw one of the shows on the "One for the Road" tour. It was
the one in Providence Civic Center, which is also the show they
videotaped. I was in the front row, in front of Dave Davies, so
I can occassionally see myself in the video!
Anyone else remember who the opening act on that tour was? It was
a new band called Johnny Cougar and the Zone. Sure enough, that
later evolved into John Cougar Mellancamp.
