While everyone else was out buying Beatles CD's, I found a new
truly unique, high quality CD by TELARC.
"Round Up" contains over 63 minutes of the best 'cowboy' music that
I have ever heard. This CD re-creates the sound of the Old West right in
the middle of my apartment in the Northeast. This new release is certainly
destined to be one of TELARC's best. My only complaint is that sometimes
the music is so dynamic that it overshadows some of the vocal. This disk
is a great addition to everyone's collection. The sound effect are absolutely
great!

"Round-Up" is an excellent disc. It was very popular at CES in
Las Vegas (a lot of the demo booths were playing it - especially
the car audio people!!).

I also highly recommend this disc - but then again, I'm a big fan
of all of Erich Kunzel's recordings, particularly the TELARC stuff.
I "discovered" Kunzel via a recommendation of his "Time Warp" disc;
Don Dorsey's "Ascent" on this disc is outstanding. I wish all discs
could be as well done as these are - they're pure ear candy.

Finally (over a year later) picked this disc up on sale $12.99 -
TELARC discs run $15.99 straight across the board out West.
I was quite impressed by the orchestration in this, but was very
disappointed in Frankie Laine's vocals. Anyone who's ever heard
Frankie's originals on Columbia from the late 50's, early 60's knows
what I'm talking about.
Overall the sound is standard TELARC & Kunzel/Cincy Pops - Excellent
I recommend the disc just on the strength of the orchestra alone,
but if you're expecting to hear the Frankie Laine of "Call of the
Wild Goose"/"Desire" fame - you'd be better off finding his original
Mercury (late 40's/early 50's) recordings or his Columbia stuff
(late 50's thru 60's).
