654.1 | | CUPOLA::HAKKARAINEN | Astray into the future | Wed Feb 25 1987 08:09 | 4 |
| Are these release dates for both sides of the pond?
kh_who_works_in_a_documentation_group
(plenty of broken English there)

654.2 | | BASHER::IBL | stick with me kid, we'll go places... | Wed Feb 25 1987 09:34 | 9 |

Well, Island being the fairly small label it is, I should imagine
the release dates will be more or less simultaneous.
(in other words...a cautious "yes" :-))

654.3 | | AKOV68::BOYAJIAN | A disgrace to the forces of evil | Thu Feb 26 1987 01:50 | 13 |
| Chances are the releases will be simultaneous (with a tolerance
of a couple of days). Seems to me that Fairport Convention's
LIEGE AND LEAF showed up here at about the same time as Andy
Leslie picked up one for me in the UK to bring here for me.
Good to see another Fairport coming out, as well as another
Steve Winwood and a Traffic.
Seems to me that at least three of those four Cat Stevens discs
(I'm not sure about MONA BONE JAKON) are already available in
the US, though.

654.5 | | PSW::WINALSKI | Paul S. Winalski | Thu Feb 26 1987 17:53 | 4 |
| TEA FOR THE TILLERMAN and CATCH BULL AT FOUR already are out on CD, but not
on the Island label.

654.6 | | NINJA::HEFFEL | Bored on Board | Thu Feb 26 1987 20:29 | 4 |
| I've definately *not* seen MONA BONE JAKON anywhere on any label.
I really didn't expect to see it for some time.

654.7 | | AKOV68::BOYAJIAN | A disgrace to the forces of evil | Thu Feb 26 1987 21:50 | 4 |
| If I'm not mistaken, the Cat Stevens CD's that are in release
here are from whichever his regular LP label was (A&M?).

654.8 | "Nick Drake" | ELMO::MARCOUX | | Fri Feb 27 1987 11:02 | 4 |
|
RE.0 The Nick Drake album is "Five Leaves Left". Does this mean
Bryter Later will not be available on CD.

654.9 | Yrros. | BASHER::IBL | stick with me kid, we'll go places... | Fri Feb 27 1987 11:08 | 11 |

re .-1
ah well, I can claim innocence on that'un coz the catalogue says
"Fire". Good job I didn't try to buy it....:-)
Island will (of course!) release more, but this catalogue (it's
only a itty-bitty pamphlet really) only covers up to March '87.

654.10 | Best of only | BPOV09::LUND | | Mon Mar 02 1987 11:40 | 2 |
| What I heard on Traffic was it was going to be a best of traffic
and not a release of any albums.
|
654.11 | Traffic | BARNUM::PELLETIER | Nothin's Shakin' | Mon Mar 02 1987 14:04 | 7 |
| Any word on what would be on this best of ... a "Welcome To The
Canteen" Line up would be nice!
They should also release Barlycorn, and probably Low Spark.

654.12 | | BASHER::IBL | stick with me kid, we'll go places... | Tue Mar 03 1987 05:23 | 8 |

well, the Island catalogue says "Low Spark..." will be released,
so I guess we have to take their word for it, and since it's March
'87 now it shouldn't be too long before it appears on the shelves.
Ian!
|
654.13 | | PSW::WINALSKI | Paul S. Winalski | Sat Mar 07 1987 14:19 | 5 |
| The Island catalogue I got with my last Bob Marley disc lists JOHN BARLEYCORN
MUST DIE and THE LOW SPARK OF HIGH-HEELED BOYS as the first two Traffic
releases.

654.14 | John Martyn......Finally | AQUA::ROST | Who could imagine? | Tue Apr 07 1987 16:33 | 2 |
| Has anyone actually seen the John Martyn "Solid Air" CD anywhere
in the Boston area yet??????? Or the Traffic CD's???????
|
654.15 | | AKOV68::BOYAJIAN | Canis Nervous Rex | Wed Apr 08 1987 04:08 | 9 |
| I asked at BCD the other day when they expect them in (I'm waiting
for Fairport's UNHALFBRICKING as well as the Traffics), and they
said they don't know. They've been on order for at least a month,
but nothing's arrived yet.
If it's John Martyn you're specifically interested in, BCD does
have one or two other JM discs.

654.16 | Still Waiting for Traffic and John Martyn | AQUA::ROST | This space available | Wed Jun 17 1987 09:40 | 6 |

I haven't seen anything in this note for awhile. I know that some
people have picked up the Fairport CDs.....has anyone seen the Traffic
ones yet....or in particular "Solid Air" by John Martyn?????
I wait with bated breath....

654.17 | | AKOV68::BOYAJIAN | In the d|i|g|i|t|a|l mood | Thu Jun 18 1987 03:03 | 6 |
| I haven't asked them at BCD for quite some time about what's
happening with them. Only one of the Fairport CD's made it over
here so far (LIEGE & LEAF). UNHALFBRICKING and the two Traffic
CD's still seem to be off in the Twilight Zone.
