I just purchased my CD player last week. I bought the NEC 650 it works fine and it sounds great but last night I discovered something strange and I was wondering if anybody seen this type of problem. I have own 8 CD's, 6 of them play the last song and then the CD player stops but on two disks after the last song it will return to the next to last song and start again!! If the album has 7 songs at the end of the seventh song it will go to song 6 and start again, amazing!!! Any ideas out there? Bart Lasky

One idea: your CD player is naff. Is there any correlation to playing times?

I have a(n) NEC 650. I've never had a problem with instant replays. Sounds like you might have a problem. Take the discs you are having a problem with and try them on another NEC 650. If you can't reproduce it, exchange your NEC 650 for one that works. -mr. bill

I'm not familiar with that particular model but if it has extensive programing capabilities you might check to make sure that it is absolutely clear of any repeating that might be programmed (for whatever reason). Some CD players have the ability to set both start and stop points either dependent on Track Number, Index number or elapsed time. Perhaps its set to repeat on track 7 (was it 7?) a swag at best.... tom |
