| Yes, Einstein _is_ available, albeit a bit expensive. I've seen
it for 48 or thereabouts in London and Southampton. Also I've
seen Satyagraha (sp?) for maybe 36. The other discs I've seen
are Glassworks, The Photographer, Mishima and Songs from Liquid
Days. A friend of mine has The Photographer, and it sounds pretty
good. I like Glass, but not enough at the moment to buy the cds.
BTW, you get a book with both of the first two.

| There was a film on channel 4 over Xmas, speeded up shots of US
life, with quite good music. Can't remember the name. Can anyone
else help there?

608.5 | Koyaanisqatsi | MAGIC::DICKSON | WYSIWYG is a crock | Mon Jan 19 1987 12:31 | 9 |
| Koyaanisqatsi is probably the most beautifully photographed film I
have ever seen. The music fits perfectly, and the total effect is
quite moving. It is important to slow down your mind to properly
appreciate this.
Einstein on the Beach is pretty spare in comparison with Glass' later
works. I have the LPs of Einstein and only like a few parts. But
the CD version of Satyagraha is excellent. Look for another Glass
opera in the near future, titled "Akhnaten".

608.8 | It's out! | ULTRA::SIMON | How can we know the dancer from the dance? | Mon Dec 14 1987 05:29 | 22 |
| "Akhnaten" is now available on CD. I picked up a copy yesterday
at Barnes and Noble in downtown Boston. It's a 2 CD set and so
relatively inexpensive compared to "Einstein" and "Satyagraha."
I recommend highly to those who enjoy Glass's music. Here are the
credits on the package:

Israel and Richard Riddell. [The text is spoken and sung in English,
