In my recent search for a portable CD I discovered that the Technics SLXP7
has been discontinued. I also found out that the Technics SLXP8 (CD
w/Quartz AM/FM) will not be available until late Feb - early March of 87 as
opposed to the original date of November 86. No reason was given for the
delay in release, hopefully problems have not crept up. Early reviews of the
XP8 have been very good.
As a result of the delays and discontinue the only portable CD offered by
Technics is the SLXP5, similar to the XP7, but slightly smaller and
includes the battery pack. Illinois Audio listed the XP5 for $249.00.
