| RE the Christmas CD -- I, too, bought the cardboard-encased version
last year, and was extremely irritated to find it released with a
jewel box this year. So I wrote to AG and asked them to send me a
jewel box with insert, and they kindly did. Unfortunately, it arrived
somewhat the worse for wear (i.e., cracked, with the little tabs that
hold the booklet broken), but it was nice of them to send it. One of
these days I may get a new jewel box and try to transfer the inserts.
AG sure is interested in keeping their customers happy!

Apparently, the little booklet one will get in the Fresh Aire VI
CD is also being sent with the album, which I got to hear Sat.
I have a program from Mannheim Steamroller's Omaha concert, which
gives some insight on how they put all this together, and what lengths
they go to in a concert. Now if they'd just play the East Coast...

587.5 | Fresh Aire VI Review & Availability | JUNIOR::STUDIVAN | | Wed Jan 21 1987 22:49 | 37 |
| Just picked up a copy of FRESH AIRE VI tonight (1/21/87)at Newbury Comics
in Natick(?). They mentioned that the disk had just arrived today. There
were about 6 copies left in the bin. Price was $16.99.
As expected, the music is excellent and sound quality is also excellent.
The disc is recorded with the London Symphony and the Cambridge Singers.
Its unusual for one group to consistently put out high quality music that
is enjoyable to listen to. All of the Fresh Aire series has a unique mood
and feeling that allows the user to almost visualize what is being
described by the music.
FYI...Tracks on the disc are as follows:
1. Come Home to the Sea
RHODES SUITE
------------------------------
2. Twilight at Rhodes
3. Night Festival at Rhodes
4. Sunrise at Rhodes
5. The Olympics
6. Nepenthe
ORPHEUS SUITE
------------------------------
7. Descent into the Underworld
8. Dialog with the Devil
9. Ascent from Hell
10. SIRENS
Crash and the Call
The Dance
The Singing Contest
Farewell

587.6 | Got my FA6 | MOSAIC::RIES | Frank W. Ries Jr. | Wed Jan 28 1987 20:15 | 7 |
| I picked up Fresh Aire VI at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show
Jan 8. I really like it. I also picked up Fresh Aire IV, Saving
The Wildlife, and a couple of other AG titles. I also picked up
two video samplers. Each title, including the videos were $10 a
pop at the show. What a deal. Telarc was also there, selling at
$10 a shot and Mobile Fidelity at $12. Needless to say, I bought
a pile of CD's.

| I picked up VI at Rockit yesterday. The one thing I find truly
amazing is that this is the first Fresh Aire CD where I feel I get
my money's worth - it's 45 minutes long! The rest tend to be between
30 and 35 minutes.
At first listening I didn't like it as much as the others, but I
will listen some more.

| Just wondering...I'm new to the CD scene, and to the "NEW AGE" music
scene as well. I love a great deal of what I have heard. I have
heard only pieces of the FRESH AIR compilations. Can anyone recommend
a particular CD to start with?
I highly recommend, and there is no way I will spell the name right,
Andreas Volenvieder(?). His new CD, LP, "THE MOON" is one of the
best new pieces of music I have purchased in the last 15 years.
I do have over 200 albums, so this is no small recommendation.
Thanks

| Well, I know there's a note around here somewhere that suggests
an order for the Fresh Aire discs, but here's mine.
Start with Fresh Aire III and Saving The Wildlife. Next I'd get
II, then the rest in ascending sequence.
I'm not sure of the name either, but it's closer to Vollenweider
- the W is pronounced as V. The disc you refer to is "Down to the
Moon", which I too think is great.

I'm sorry, but I just can't resist. I hope nobody missed Doonesbury
last friday. Now that was a breath of fresh air.
-mr. bill
But the BEST thing about the study group, is that it's a legitimization
of the new age cuture - its life-style, its philosophy, its literature,
even its music!
New age has its own music?
Oh, yes, and it's wonderful. Hearing it is like floating in a warm
sound bath. It totally frees the mind.
Obviously. Look Boopsie, do me a favor and don't bring any of this
stuff home, okay?
You silly! You've been listening to it for the last three hours!
Huh?
Non-intrusive, isn't it? This piece is called "air pudding".
