I just purchased a Denon DCD-1300 from Natural Sound.  This is the latest
little brother to the DCD-1500.  It has everything, as far as I could tell,
that the 1500 has except the dual D/A converters.  It has the Super Linear
Converter.  I figured instead of getting the dual I could move the one of
the speakers a quarter of an inch closer to me and save some bucks.

Anyway, I'm adding this note so people could be aware that it's available,
I haven't put it thru the paces, yet.

Price?  Well, they were VERY stuck on $550.00.  I told him I was interested
and was that the best price he could give me?  He went downstairs, 5 minutes
later came up and said the list was $550.00.  So that was the price.  Well,
I then told him I work at DEC, that didn't do much good.  Then, I pulled my
Ace.  I work at a Video Store nearby, and they have an agreement between each
other where they give the other store's employees a discount.  The discount
I should get was 20%, but after he talked with the owner I got 15%, so....

$550.00 looks like the price...

BTW: They did have an 1100 demo at a demo price which I can't remember.

    
    
         I paid only $546 for my DCD-1500 at Al Franklins in Hartford.
    They also threw in two free disks of my choice. I bought it back
    in February, I don't know how their prices are now but they might be
    worth looking into.

    Boy, I'm glad I got my DCD-1500 when it was still $480!!! See what
    a few good reviews will do to the selling price! :-)

    I bought my DCD-1500 for $549 back in March.  I would say that the
    price for the DCD-1300 was a little bit high.
