Many artists add songs to their CD releases that are not on the LP or cassette versions. Most, however, do not take advantage of the larger capacity of CD's. Perhaps they feel it would destroy the unity of the album (the song placed at the end of the album should be the last song on the CD as well), or maybe they just don't have any more material to put in. Here is a list of CD's with extra songs: "No Jacket Required"-Phil Collins ("We Said Hello Goodbye" added) "Press To Play" - Paul McCartney (3 extra songs tacked on to the end) "Give My Regards To Broad Street" - McCartney (longer versions of most songs, a few added) I'm sure there are many to add to this list. Anyone out there opposed to additions to albums in this manner? (For instance, I don't think ANYTHING could be put at the end of "Abbey Road" without ruining it.)

The previous note is #399. Actually I think that it's a pretty good idea to restart a topic a few months after the previous one as long as there is a back pointer. Many people entering the conference for first time might skip over all but the last couple of months worth of notes, so they don't have to thousands of notes and reply to get current. With the pointer back to the other note, there isn't any need to repeat any of the contents of it here, but I have no objection to starting a new note. Perhaps the author or a moderator can modify the title of the note to make this a continuation of that one. Alan |
