459.0. " Mirror made cd (?)" by MQFSV1::LEDOUX () Mon Sep 08 1986 19:40
Last week, in Toronto's "Sam the recordman" store, I saw
a brand new CD at CAN$ 8.97 ( around US $6.00 ), It said
"New Mirror made CD". I saw 3 or 4 CD's of the same label
through the window,since the store was closed. The next
day, during lunch, I went back but all were sold out. The
salesperson didn't really know more than it was "mirror made".
And said that they found a way to mass produce CD, (someone
told him that(?)).
Any body know anything about a new(?) technology of
making CD as fast as vinyl(?).
If they found a way of making CD that easy, are they
as reliable ?

| There are a couple of innovative new technologies for making CDs,
none of which are in production yet to the best of my knowledge.
There was an article a few months ago in Digital Audio. The term
"mirror made" doesn't ring any bells with me.
