457.0. "Add-on remote for Magnavox 1041 and 2041 players" by PAMPAM::CLARK (Ward Clark) Sat Sep 06 1986 17:26
I'm a happy owner of a Magnavox 2041 player and was thrilled to
read the following:
< Note 442.2 by NSSG::KAEPPLEIN >
Last time I talked to anyone at NAP, they were planning to sell
add-on remote control units for ~$40, but not in stores. There
is a jack in the rear of the 1041 and 2041 machines for it. I have
not talked to them in a few months, so the plans might be off.
I think that this is an important enough issue for Mag owners that
I'm creating this new topic so that it will be easy to find and
track.
If I weren't on the other side of the Altantic, I'd call NAP right now
and find out the current status of this add-on remote. Would someone
please post the NAP phone number so that each 1041 and 2041 owner can
call and indicate that there is a market for this option.

P.S. If you think that you've already read this notes once, it's
because I erroneously replied to topic 442 instead of WRITEing
a new base note.

| I called NAP. First at headquarters in Tn. 615-475-3801, and they
gave me the consumer accessories dept. (800-255-5122).
The EM-2000 units will arrive from Europe next week along with the
literature and retail for "under $50". They'll have more details
in a week or two.

| Thanks for the specific information on the remote. I'll have to
see if I can get one here in France before it makes the trip across
the Atlantic.
