| I don't care where they built it, I like mine. I haven't quite yet
bought the player again in terms of money for CDs, but I'm REAL CLOSE.
I take that back - I went over the top this weekend. Sigh. I bought
the player on 1 September and it's got about seventy hours on it (hard
to believe, but true!). No malfunctions, nothing but good good music.
Now if only it had a changer...

Th Philips portable in built in Japan. The larger models (at least
the three I have looked at the back of) come from Belgium.
In addition, the mechanism for all players with the Philips
d'Arsonval tracking setup comes from Europe (even the Japanese
brands), from what I read.

The label on my CD304 also says "Made in Belgium".
