440.0. "LUXMAN CD player ?" by NATASH::MCGREAL (Pat McGreal) Tue Aug 26 1986 10:15

  Does anyone have any opinions or knowledge about LUXMAN CD players ?
Their brochure only lists one model, the D-100 ?

thanks, Pat

    I have a Luxman. It's an older one, the D-405 I believe.

    When I bought it, I did an A/B comparison with the Yamaha units.
    In my opinion, the Luxman had a far better sound, more spacious
    and open than the Yamaha could reproduce. I have had it for over a
    year and a half now. It still gets played regularly and I have never
    had a single problem with it. I highly recommend it.

    By the way, I did the comparison using Grover Washington Jr.'s
    "Winelight" CD on Timewindow speakers. The third track (I can't
    remember the name of it) really showed the differences between
    the different players.
