404.2 | Lechmere Preview in Nashua | APPLE::MATUS | Roger Matus | Thu Jul 17 1986 15:55 | 22 |
| The New Lechmere store does have an enormous selection of compact
disks. The CD department seems bigger than the cassette department.
The store is open as a "preview" now. You may go in and shop if
the store happens to be open. But, it is not open regular hours,
yet. The official opening is Sunday, July 27. The mall itself
opens on Wednesday, July 23.
The real advantage to shopping there now is that the store is full
of merchandise and empty of people. They are NOT advertising the
preview anywhere. So, if you'd like to flip through stacks and
stacks of CDs at regular Lechmere prices (i.e. $14.99 and $15.99),
then this is certainly the time to go.
A sales person told me to expect a 20% off sale when the official
opening takes place. He also said to expect 100s of people and
that the popular items would be gone.
Regards,
Roger

404.4 | Just follow the crowds of CD buyers! | TLE::CLARK | Ward Clark | Thu Jul 17 1986 19:29 | 11 |
| Heading north on Rt. 3:
Take exit 36 directly to the mall.
Heading south on Rt. 3:
Take exit 1. Turn left on Spit Brook Road. Turn right on
Daniel Webster Highway (it's several lights - the first big
road). Go (south) about 1-2 miles. Turn left into the mall.

| I was really impressed at how well organized the CDs are, although I guess it
won't last long when the mobs arrive and put CDs back where they don't belong.
The Manchester CD section is horrible. There are many discs where they don't
belong. There doesn't seem to be enough staff there to keep things organized.
Maybe that will change after the official opening.
