In addition to containing the same songs as on the LP,

like the other songs better, for the most part.

it's a version of 'Excellent Birds' which comes from Laurie Anderson's

    extra track.

The CD of Scritti Politti's (sp?) Cupid & Psyche 85 has 4 extra
tracks which in effect are remixes/different versions of 'The Word

I say "LP", because RR issues all of their audiophile vinyl

| | Motown Records has pissed me off! I picked up one of there
"Twofers" --- Rare Earth: GET READY/ECOLOGY. In order to
fit both albums on one CD, they used the shorter, single
version of "(I Know I'm) Losing You" instead of the longer
version that's on the LP. I *like* the longer version, much
more than the shorter. The times on the CD for other songs
from ECOLOGY (I never did have GET READY on LP) seem to be
shorter by as much as a couple of minutes (notably "Eleanor
Rigby") according to the printed times on the CD and LP.
I don't know if the cuts actually *are* shorter, or perhaps
sped up a little, since I haven't set up an A/B situation
to compare. On the other hand, I have too often noticed
completely crocked times on both LP's and CD's. Now I'm
dubious about picking up the other Motown "Twofers".

I think I'd rather have had the two albums on separate discs
    and intact.

The newest release, "Element of Light", has four extra songs.
I'd call it a very good buy. It's been on the Rolling Stone

has five more songs than the LP, and the entire thing is ADD.
