| I just looked through my entire CD collection. Most of the CDs are older
ones that don't carry any designation. Of the few that do carry a designation,
most are AAD, with a couple of DDDs.
I DID find one ADD recording. The 3-CD Archiv Produktion Compact Disk Edition
of the J. S. Bach Orgelwerke/Cembalowerke with Ton Koopman (Organ) and
Trevor Pinnock (Harpsichord) has two DDD discs (the organ stuff). The third
disc, the harpsichord stuff, has one DDD track. The rest are ADD. Apparently,
they were recorded with analog equipment, released first on LP, then re-mixed
digitally and re-released on CD.

| I'm not sure where this response should go, but I found something interesting
the other day. As some of you may have noticed, Warner Brothers has the
habit of putting a disclaimer on their CD packages that says something on
the order of: "We caution you that this recording was made on analog equip-
ment and the increased audio quality of the CD may show the limitations of
the source."
Well, the other week, I happened to pick up PIRATES (Rickie Lee Jones'
second album) on CD, and this disclaimer appeared on the lower right-hand
corner of the back of the package as expected. However, on the lower left-
hand side, not two inches away, was the statement that the album was recorded
on a 3M multi-track digital recorder.
(Well, *I* got a kick out of it!)
