210.0. "The latest in CD storage racks" by PYRITE::WEAVER () Fri Nov 15 1985 00:13
The Electric Gramaphone in Sudbury, MA has finally recieved their new
CD storage racks from "AUDIO ORGANIZERS". They come in three sizes,
based on storage of 43 CD's side by side where multiples of 43 are
stacked.
CD 40-S $25.00 holds 43 discs
CD 80-D $45.00 holds 86 discs
CD 120-T $65.00 holds 129 discs
All are real wood with an OAK finish. Each rack has three sliding
dividers (additional can be purchased). The construction is basically
wood sides with 3 holes partially drilled in each side, 3 wooden dowels
then connect the two sides together and support the CDs and dividers.
The dowels are set up so that the CD's are angled with the back down
from the front so the CD's will stay in nice and snug.

Each side has two small holes in the top and bottom so that pins can be
inserted for stacking. Note that the 86 and 129 capacity units have
solid wood sides (no separate joints between stacks) and units of all
capacities can be stacked. I have bought two of the 86 capacity units
which I have stacked on top of each other.
These are also being sold at the Harvard Coop, The Music Box and a few
other audio stores in the area in addition to The Electric Gramaphone.
Note that because the CD's are placed side-by-side, this method will
accomodate the multi-CD jewel boxes as well.
Enjoy,
-Dave

| nice picture.
One question: I can't seem to divide 3 into 43 evenly. Do you have to take
apart one of the CD's?

| I bought three of the Teac units from Service Merchandise here in
Massachusetts. Similar in design to that descibed in .0, but half
the price. They're not solid wood (veneer), but have sliding glass
doors in front and stack nicely. Each will hold about 40-45 discs.

| Lechmere has Add-n-Stack CD drawer units. These cost about $20 and hold
90 CDs (Mine has just about filled up). They have the same horizontal
dimensions as the Add-n-Stack Videotape drawer units.

| The Add 'n' Stack units are nice, except that they have individual slots
for single CDs only, so double and triple sets will not fit.
