| This list is not today's list, but it shouldn't be too old. It's
according to Strawberries Survey, so you know it's biased toward
Rock. They're having a sale until tomorrow, everything is $11.99

Boy, this list sure reflects the availability of low priced players. I
seem to remember a list a year or so ago that was full of George Winston,
Keith Jarrett, Dave Grusin, Andreas Volenweider (sp? on these), etc.
Are there any other Volenweider fans out there? White Winds lives in
my player. - chris

| This is probably not the place to bring up Mr. Vollenweider, but my wife
and I are fans as well. We bought his second album (the one with the caverns
on the cover and the unusual name) right before he started getting popular.
We had no idea what to expect but we gambled and won. It's still my favorite,
with "White Wind" a close second.

| Has anybody seen a "Top-20" for Classical besides the one each
month in "Digital Audio". That list is compiled from reader
opinion, and not sales.
A "Top-n" list for "other" might also be useful. "Other" would
include things like Soundtracks, Sound Effects, Demo disk and
other non-music CD's (Firesign Theater's "Three Faces of Al"
comes to mind.).

| I think giving CD evaluations to be very valuable considering that your
disc investment will far overwhelm your player investment. I like to buy
disks with a feeling that what I would get would be good. Thanks for the
top twenty in both jazz and classical (my two favorite areas). Would like
to see more opinions on disks.
I'd like to add a comment on jazz. I took a flyer and bought a disk without
knowing anything about it (through mail order - didn't even see cover).
It is Fill Up the Night - Sadao Watanabe. He is a jazz saxophonist from
Japan. The music is EXCELLENT. It is one of the best sounding CDs I have.
I would heartily recommend this disc to anyone who like jazz.

| re. .5 Ovation magazine, which is classical only, publishes a list of
the top 20 cd's and top 20 lp's based strictly on sales. This
means that everything is included, like Bernstein conducting his
own West Side Story and the Telarc 'Time Warp' cd.
