133.0. "Jimi Hendrix on CD" by AKOV68::BOYAJIAN () Sun Jun 16 1985 15:04

Harvard Coop has a copy of a 2-disk set (import) of ELECTRIC LADYLAND.

I should probably mention, though, that most of the best material from
this album, like "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)", "Crosstown Traffic",
et al., are also available on a excellent CD, KISS THE SKY. I bought
the latter (after already owning the audiophile LP), which is digitally
remastered from the original tapes of the songs. This is what I'd consider
to be the definitive "Best of Jimi Hendrix" album, even if it's missing
a top song or two.

Price on Electric Ladyland? One of my personal favorites, but my vinyl copy
was wrecked long ago by a 10 gram cartridge.

If I can remember correctly, it was circa $33.00, but I believe it was
marked with a 20% off symbol ("%"). Don't hold me to this, though.

I have "Kiss the Sky" and I like it. It would be nice to have a little
wider/better selection of songs. Maybe "Kiss the Sky II" will be issued,.
or maybe the masters are gone or in bad shape.

I SWEAR he was sayin' "Kiss this guy" - maybe living too close to San Fran
for too long ??? Anyway, saw this one on sale at a Wherehouse for 19.99.
Is it my imagination, but are prices of CD's - retail, that is, lower in
the West coast than back most of your ways ?? Al in Santa Clara

KISS THE SKY is available in these parts for anywhere from 14.99 to 17.99.

"Live" he did say "kiss this guy" and sort of pointed at Mitch Mitchell with
a smirk on his face. The studio version was "kiss the sky".

After reading Digital Audio's glowing review of Jimi Hendrix at Winterland
I bought it. It is a single disk with 70+ minutes of the concerts at
Winterland October 10,11,12 1968. It has 13 songs, some of which were
released on the Jimi Hedrix concerts double album in 1982 or 1983.

It has (memory time)
FIRE
Manic Depression
Spanish Castle
Sunshine of Your Love (Cream tribute - instrumental)
Tax Free
Killing Floor
Hey Joe
Purple Haze
Wild Thing
Foxy Lady

and others I can't remember now.

The sound is very, very good for such an old recording. I paid $17.99 for
it. It is put out by Rykodisc which does only CD releases so that CD will
be the only media it is available on.

Has anyone heard/bought/seen in the stores the new "Hendrix Radio
One" collection from Ryko? It promises over an hour of BBC Radio
tapes of the Experience from 1967 including the much sought after
    "Day Tripper" cover.
