I visited the Tweeter in Framingham Sunday only to discover that their selection has diminished quite a bit. The store manager said that Tweeter was just into them to help establish the market, and now that availability of the media is taking hold, that Tweeter won't be pushing the CD titles as much (taken to mean: They want to sell hardware, not software. Sounds like another company I know!). It looked like they were discontinuing WEA titles from the stock they had, but they had most of the Windham Hill and Sheffield titles. I suspect that they will probably leave the pop to the Lechmere's and Strawberries and concentrate more on less available jazz and classical labels (some day I imagine we will be back to the old days of 20 pop titles to every classical and 10 classical to every jazz). Long live Jazz, -Dave

I agree, I was at the Burlington Tweeter. But, they told me that Tweeter had the biggest selection. I told them they were full of what makes the grass grow green. They only carry a few jazz, hardly any pop, and they do have an extensive classical selection, but they are not anywhere near anybody else. The best pop I have seen yet is Rockin' Mania in Framingham. The best classical is Electric Gramaphone The best Jazz (my opinion) is the Coop in Harvard Square. Any way, Tweeter is the pits, including their audio prices. Jeff | |||||
