| It is certainlly possible on a PAL Playstation: I have the aerial cable
and Playstation cable multi-tapped into the RF socket of my video in order to
have a single cable leading the three metres to my TV. On a whim I tuned a video
channel to the Playstation output and hit record. It works.

| I have sucessfully recorded too, using NTSC format. Recorded quality is
absolutely perfect. I don't know what a "peritel" is, and I don't know why
you are apparently trying to record "through" the TV.
I'd go: PSX to Input of VCR.
Output of VCR to input of TV.

| Thanks for these replies.
For clarification, in France, we have SECAM as TV standard, so neither PAL nor
NTSC is used. Peritel is another french standard which was set years ago to plug
any appliance to the TV. You just have to deal with one cable for connecting
something to the TV set.
I didn't try any configuration other than the one my son first used. I'll give
it some time next weekend.
Anyway, thanks for your answers. I know now that it may be feasible.

If you mean from outside of DEC, you can't. But if you're on
DEC's internal network, go to
http://www-notes.lkg.dec.com/metalx/playstation
and you can post from there.
