| I found this Notes file during a quiet spell here..so Hello.
I'm enjoying the new Shining -- a lot more detail than the movie. I
liked the "Tony" additions. It's taking me a while to get used to the
"Wings" guy as someone else. Everyone else is good so far. What do
others think?

| Well. I like it. I've seen the first two parts and can't wait for the
third. I was reading in the T.V. guide about how and why SK made the
remake. Acoording to T.V.G. SK didn't like the original version. HE
didn't have a lot of input into it and thought that Jack Nicholson was
"over the top". He got the idea for the story while staying in the
Hotel that they are filming in. He had originally started the story
with a family being trapped in an amusement park. He was staying at
the Stanley when he got snowed in and had to stay an extra few nights
and that is where the story began. The Crew for the new version are
all staying at the Hotel and Several of the crew have complained about
spirits in thier rooms.
SK also said that the story was more about a family being torn
apart by the effects that Alcohol has on a family and that Booze is
the real Ghost in the Story. Well, the third part should be good. I
guess we'll just have to wait and see.
