960.0. "Need *.SYS-X135 files ..." by BERFS4::NORD () Tue Feb 04 1997 14:03

    Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and all the times between on
    this nice world,

    are you able to imagin, that there are sometimes customers, which have
    some problems?

    Such a customer I have.

    We have installed five WR90 EW, the software is installed on a PC, I
    didn't know the version, the date of the SYS-files is of 12-10-1995.
    I configured the WR90, as the customer need them, checked one
    connection with a ping to the remote router and a connection (telnet)
    to a system, which is connected to the lan behind this remote router.
    All seems fine, so I go my way. Today I have been at this customer
    side, 'cause she has logged a call, and the CSC can't help her and
    decided, that someone has to check it onside. The customer told me,
    that it is impossible to do a file transfer between here and there and
    vice versa, also it is impossible print on a remote system behind this
    WR90. The customer has done a test with two CISCO boxes (250x), and
    there is no problem from the startup (configured is only the minimum
    you need to map an ip address to a X.25 DTE and mching window sizes and
    so on).

    So I checked this conference for finding the same or like problem as
    written above. And Yeah, I found entry 911, and the information, that
    there is a patched SYS file for all the WRs and version 1.3.

    But where is it gone, I have done:

    dir marvin::net_out:vr29013.sys-x135
    and
    dir marvin::net_out:vr29f013.sys-x135

    but the answer is:
    %DIRECT-W-NOFILES, no files found

    Is there any help outside my small office?

    Many thanks in advance

	The NET_OUT directory on MARVIN is purged every once in a while
	as it is for temporary files only.

	I have copied the current 90EW image to

	MARVIN::NET_OUT:VR29F013.SYS-135

	You can copy this for now. The image will identify itself as V1.3.5.

	We are looking at creating a "permanent" location for updated images,
	and will put a note into this file when done.
