| The stuff I order is usually well known but not always chart.
Headswim and Machine Head for example.
What's really getting me down is the amount of time it takes them
to send me things. I've been waiting since 18-Oct-1994 for Portishead
Suede and Counting Crows disks. These are hardly small label disks with
limited runs or anything and I still haven't got them ! Over four
months later !
I wondered if anyone else used CD EXPRESS and what experiences they had.

| Hi Dave,
How are you?
I use BeeBees, introduced byMike Fiddler of this parish. They've always been
reliable, but I don't know about sending abroad. Worth giving them a ring?

Pastel Blue on the web, they are reliable, although I would not advise sending
your credit card details over the web.I order from them using a cheque and have
had no problems so far.
You do not need to pay untill you have recieved the goods.
The web page is alphabetically sorted, they appear to have a lot of re-released
material.

| Many thanks for posting that address. It has a number of CDs I've been looking
for for ages, and at extremely reasonable rates too (considering p&p is
included). When I think about it, it costs about 1 quid to go into town and
park etc., and the CDs cost 12 to 15 quid. With this place, one of the CDs I
want (Birdbrain - Buffalo Tom) is less than 8 quid, inc. p&p! V.Good prices.
If they deliver it in good nick, and in good time, I'll be mightily impressed.
I'll be sending off pretty sharpish, and will post progress updates in here,
for the benefit of the not-so-brave.

| Yes, thanks.
A quick glance located several CDs I've failed to find anywhere; I think
the credit card is headed for nose-dive.

| What's 'nicer' than pastelblue and may be interesting (pricewise) for
British residents is CDnow at http://cdnow.com/ This is American and
the maximum disk price is 15$, most being at 14$. You can order a real
big bundle too, to keep postage per disk down (unlike Pastelblue).
The disks arrive very quickly, their order processing etc is very
good. You'll have to pay the VAT on the incoming disks but for me it
was still nearly a bargain until the disks arrived and I found that
VAT here in France isn't 18.6% for disks, it's 33% - ooops.
Anyway, have a look it's a great site with track listings for the
disks, band biographies etc.
So, still looking for a way to get cheaper disks.

| Following my order, on 2nd March, I still haven't received notification of my
CD (Birdbrain" by Buffalo Tom) being available. I must say that this is a
pretty massive delay, seeing as how it isn't an import, and the suggested
waiting time for a UK CD is something like 21 days.

| Yep. Unfortunately, once you make an order with Pastelblue, you can't cancel.
Also, it's only 7.50 with pastelblue, so it's not really worth paying import
tax etc. Thanks anyway.

| I ordered several cd's from pastel blue which I recieved within 7 days.
I then ordered "smokin" by Humble Pie this has now taken 10-12 weeks to
arrive.I have contacted pastel blue who informed me if the order does not arrive
this week they will cancel the order.
The explanation given was that the importer orders a batch every 6 weeks and my
order was not completed for that delivery,I therefore have to wait for the next
import.
Still ,I have'nt had to pay postage and they are much cheaper than our-price
etc...
