| I too would be interested to know....is it just Little Angels in another guise,
or is it totally different?

| I wish I knew.
By the name (B.L.O.W.), I would suggest that it's Bruce J. Dickinson's band,
because of the hint towards cannabis. Mind you, he always said that he'd work
with the others again. I recon it'd be the Little Angels, minus Toby Jepson
(maybe Mark Plunkett on vocals, or someone new).
Whatever, I recon it'd be a great gig to say "I WAS THERE" about!
Unfortunately, I won't be.

| If anyone's listening out there....
Mike Peters at the after dark - Reading.
go to it!
It's on the 29th October (as Emma's said before), and it'll be a good
chance to see a brilliant live musician and his band in a close,
personal setting. Don't forget that this man has played to crowds big
enough to fill Wembley stadium, and since ditching the Alarm has taken
to playing smaller venues to build up some kind of fan-base. Everyone
who's been to see the band will say that they're excellent live, and
there is quite a unique atmosphere of friendliness and mutual
appreciation.
Great gig to be at, so be at it if you're in Reading. Tickets probably
a fiver or less.

the stars (well, Mike Peters) Matthew?

| Yes it is, and you can probably pick it up in some shops for a budget price -
8.99. Mind you, I'm forgetting that Reading is crap for record shops, so you'll
have to go to Virgin or somewhere, and fork out about 13 quid.

| re George Best - write to Weddoes adress, or scour shops, because there
is an import version with 9 extra tracks (basically the 'Nobody is
twisting your arm' and 'Why are you...' eps plus 'Why..' in french)
added as extra tracks. I got mine for 12 quids or so.

1242.13 | B.L.O.W. | CHEFS::GEORGEM | Sinning with a safety net | Tue Nov 15 1994 15:23 | 34 |
| Went to see B.L.O.W. in Bristol the other night.
Guitar - Bruce J. Dickinson (ex- Little Angels)
Keyboards - Jimmy Dickinson (ex- Little Angels)
Vocals/Guitar - Dave Gooding (ex-No Sweat)
Drums - Mark Richardson (Ex- Little Angels)
Bass - Some 20 yr old kid (there's hope for me yet, then)
A completely surreal gig to baffle the teeny-bopping fans of the Little
Angels. Everyone was expecting some cock-rock job, but were confronted
with a bunch of stoned hippies playing Led-Zep inspired groove music.
It was quite unlike anything that's around at the moment. The demo
tape they're selling has sold more copies than the last but one Little
Angels album sold (which went in the top40 at no. 11 I think), but the
tape doesn't compare to the electric live performance they gave.
It didn't matter that they were all completely stoned - the singer must
have smoked 5 joints during the show - because it seemed to add to the
atmosphere of the music. Now, obviously I wasn't at woodstock, but if
I had been, I would've expected something like this. The band (most of
whom were rock-press superstars until a coupla months ago) mingled with
the crowd after the performance, and shared joints with those who
approached them.
A most entertaining night out. If they play a venue near you, go to
it, and be educated (or re-educated, for all you old codgers who'll moan
that it's all been done before - which it hasn't!). The music press
are starting to pick up on them, and they'll probably end up getting a
decent record deal. Their flyers cite their influences as far reaching
as SEAL and early Fleetwood Mac (circa. "Oh No" - is that what it was
called? I don't remember!)
Very enjoyable, Very Groovy and Very Stoned.
